Drunken Driver Sentenced to 6 Years for Crash that Killed an Everson Man

We continue to follow the story of an Everson man, Brian Smith, who crashed almost head-on and killed Jason Schuyleman who was riding a motorcycle. After being found guilty of vehicular homicide by a jury in late November 2016 (read about the trial), Judge Charles Snyder handed him a 6 1/2 year sentence this week, which is the bottom of the standard range of 6 1/2 - 8 1/2 years. Snyder also ruled that Smith could stay out of prison while he appealed the verdict if he could meet and post the bail of $100,000.
