About Me
About Jonathan
Jonathan is an experienced and DUI focused attorney, an essential combination for the success of your case. If you have been arrested for a DUI with a pending case, you must act immediately. Success requires a seasoned guide to help you navigate complicated criminal and civil procedures, and to aggressively challenge the evidence to be used against you during the Department of Licensing administrative hearing procedure and in court.
Jonathan Rands has dedicated his legal practice to DUI defense, working exclusively in defense of citizens arrested for DUI. Jonathan is qualified under National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standards to administer roadside sobriety tests. Knowledge of these tests is critical in defending citizens charged with DUI. Jonathan has been called upon to lecture both Washington State attorneys and judges about how to defend and handle DUI cases. Jonathan regularly educates other Washington attorneys with respect to DUI immigration consequences specifically regarding travel to Canada.
Jonathan is also contributing writer on DUI defense in the third edition of Defending DUIs in Washington, a textbook for DUI lawyers.

A DUI arrest almost always creates and initiates a criminal DUI charge, and a DUI conviction will garner mandatory DUI penalties including: jail time, thousands of dollars in fines, court fees, probation fees, use of an ignition interlock device, probation (up to five years), suspension of driver’s license (at least 90 days), and other unforeseen DUI consequences. With so much at stake, Jonathan will do everything possible to help you avoid a DUI conviction. Jonathan will protect your legal options and interests, work to help retain your privilege to drive, and help you maintain your life, your career, and your freedom.
